Molecular Cell Biological Study on Rat Hepatocytes Cytotoxicity and DNA Synthesis Effects of Scutellariae Baicalensis Radix Herbal acupuncture Solution(SBRHA)


Abstract
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the rat hepatocytes proliferation and toxicity effects of Scutellaria baiadensis Radix herbal acupuncture solution(SBRHA).
Methods : In this study I have been carried out to estimate the effects of Scutellaria baicnlemis Radix herbal acupuncture solution(1-10 ug/ml) on rat hepatocytes cytotoxicities in primary culture of rat hepatocytes using MTT method, LDH enzyme activity. Scutellwia bairnlensis Radix herbal acupuncture solution(SBRHA) was added to the culture for 48 hrs. DNA and protein synthesis were determined as 3H-thymidine incorporation method.
Results : Hepatocytes cytotoxicity was not affected by treatment with SBRHA solution of l-l0,§¶/ml. In macromolecular synthesis such as DNA and protein used in the present studies, SBRHA solution(l-l0,§¶/ml) was not any meaningful change in these normal functional characteristics.
Conclusions : From the above results, it is suggested that Scutellaria bairnlensis Radix herbal acupuncture solutiodSRRHA) was not appeared as inhibitor of DNA synthesis. Hepatotoxicity was not affected by treatment Scutellaria bairnlensis Radix herbal acupuncture solution(SBRHA).
